When one of our crew mates from Chicago called and asked where we were in Florida we were surprised to hear she was very close as she was delivering a car from Chicago to Ft Myers Beach. We had a great lunch with her! It’s always nice to see fellow sailors

Before we left the Gulf Coast, I got a chance to spend a couple of days with my Sister and her husband at their townhouse. Both of them are involved in golf and my sister plays both tennis and pickle ball. While they were at their various activities, we went to the Edison Ford winter estates.

Edison’s wife was very involved in Ft Myers society. Founding the garden club. On her death (after her Husband,) she donated the estate to the city.
Edison’s last project was to find a domestic alternative to imported Rubber. He established a lab for the research

And planted many trees to aid in his research like the one below

Elizabeth enjoyed your Edison Ford home story — she’ll be there in two weeks. (I told her you couldn’t wait that long.) But maybe she’ll check to find the home — looks pretty attractive, particularly in the sunny weather.
Keep enjoying the loop, and sending updates. Meanwhile I’m skiing Brule mountain in the UP for a weekend when Elizabeth is down there. May get to Colorado too for Spring skiing — tbd. Haven’t heard from Ron Suszek. Rgds —
